Ingredients:

CREAM TOGETHER:
1-1/2 c. sugar
1 c. Oil

SIFT TOGETHER:
2 c. flour
3 t. baking powder
1/2 t. baking soda
1 t. cinnamon

STIR IN: 1 c. walnuts

SYRUP:
3 c. sugar
1-1/2 c. water
1 T. lemon juice
1 T. honey


Instructions:

Cream sugar and oil. Sift flour, baking powder, baking soda and cinnamon. Add dry ingredients to creamed mixture. Stir in walnuts. Bake in 13 x 9" pan at 350 for 30 to 45 minutes. SYRUP Combine: 3 c. sugar, 1-1/2 c. water, 1 T. lemon juice. Cook & stir til syrup reaches 220 degrees. Remove from heat and stir in 1 T. honey. Pour s-l-o-w-l-y over cooled & cut cake & let cake soak up syrup as poured. Cake should stand overnite before serving. Source: Gus Kinyolcts Greek Recipe Book
